Scott’s Thoughts:

“First of all, I want to say a massive thank you to my team for doing such a mega job all weekend. They gave me the very best package I could have had, which honestly helped me have the most fun I’ve ever had riding around such a mental track! So, thanks guys to SMR Performance, Rosewood Bespoke Joinery and the rest of my team who join me trackside each weekend.

Race one: I felt extremely comfortable and was in that flow that everyone is always looking for where it just feels natural and somewhat easy! But, sadly, a bit of a freak flick around such a tight track quickly turned into a big one and I hit the wall! For such a big crash I was surprisingly unhurt (very lucky) and the bike was also relatively OK, considering the impact. But generally, I was happy with my pace and excited for race 2, having posted the fastest lap and earned pole.

Race 2: starting from pole I got a good start and got the holeshot. I made some changes to the bike that on the computer looked like they would work but sadly it just didn’t quite suit me, and the places where I had previously felt strong and able to make passes around such a hard track to pass on, were far less easy. After such a big crash the day before I also needed to get back in the groove again, not helped by some rain mid-race but I did OK, considering. I gained some points that have put me in 3rd place in the championship.

I was sad to not be taking a trophy away from the weekend but it is possibly my strongest weekend so far pace-wise so that’s a positive. I was close to lap record pace in both races, only being one 100^th of a second off the record in race 1. I now can’t wait for the next one in a couple of weeks.
